Mr. Nielsen started his financial career at a private equity real estate firm where he provided asset management and investment analysis for Class-A multifamily development projects nationwide. Mr. Nielsen’s responsibilities included analyzing construction costs, development timelines, leasing activity, financial pro forma, cash flows, disposition and return analysis. Prior to his financial career, Mr. Nielsen served in the U.S. Navy for 12 years as a Lieutenant Commander aboard nuclear-powered fast attack submarines overseeing reactor operations.

Mr. Nielsen earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. He also holds both a master’s degree in business administration as well as a Master of Science in finance magna cum laude from the University of Arizona. Mr. Nielsen is pursuing his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) certification and is currently a candidate for the Level III exam. Mr. Nielsen is a guest lecturer in the Finance Department at The University of Arizona.
